From Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th July 2014 we ran the Burrswood Flower Festival and here is
The Burrswood Courier's report on its success:-
The Flower Festival, which commenced last Thursday evening with its opening by the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells and continued through the week-end, was an example of how Burrswood can put on a splendid event bringing large number of visitors to Burrswood – many for the first time. I appreciate it took a lot of planning, tremendous support from staff and volunteers, but it raised our profile and vital funds, gave people of all ages a spectacular and enjoyable experience, and with the Concert and Vintage Tea Party both being sell outs. Congratulations and thanks to the Fundraising Team and everyone who played their part to make it such a stunning success; not forgetting the marvellous ladies from the Crowborough Flower Club and all our sponsors. John Ashelford – CEO
The Flower Festival was a great success, attracting over 2,000 visitors to Burrswood, many of whom had never been here before. We will have raised over £8,000 for Burrswood funds and had record sales in the Tea Room and Bookshop. A big Thank You to everyone who helped over the whole weekend, in particular the Flower Arrangers, the Stewards and Volunteers, and the Estates and Hospitality Teams who made sure that the
grounds looked stunning and that the catered events all ran smoothly. Helen Winning
"A Lady's Favour"
Crowborough Flower Club entry for the 2014 RHS Chelsea Flower Show which won a Silver Medal in the Floral Design section.
Well done Ruth and Jennie!
Our congratulations go to club members, Sue Davis and Christine
Wagstaff, who came third in a competition entitled “Tall and Textured”
at Clair Hall Haywards Heath on February 12th. This was a closed
competition so very few were able view it in situ, but lucky for us Sue
and Christine reconstructed their exhibit in the foyer of the Community
Centre where it is greatly admired by all passing through.
Well done ladies!!
